Wow wow! We are excited to share another cool story with you guys from a recent shoot we did with an awesome client. This one was a few degrees off normal for most commercial photographers, and that made it all the more exciting. Our subject matter for this shoot…alpacas.
Yup! We were fortunate enough to again work with The Alpaca Group, one of our favorite ongoing clients. The Alpaca Group recently celebrated success as they won a few awards at Alpacapalooza. To build on their momentum, they brought us on to create a few Herdsire photos.

Our shoot began shortly after sunrise so we could take advantage of the magical light of dawn cast over the fields at their ranch. We photographed several of their finest alpacas throughout the morning and are really excited about how the images turned out. For each alpaca, we made sure to get full body shots as well as more up close headshots. For the most part, working with the alpacas and getting them to remain still in these desired photo positions was a fairly easy process, but a few of them were a little surly. Thankfully Mark and Jennifer are expert handlers and got the animals in position quickly.
In addition, we utilized the capabilities of our macro lens to capture detail images of the alpaca fleece.
One of the last alpacas was the young Serengeti. Serengeti placed 1st in the male juvenile ring and as a Reserve champion at Alpacapalooza.
The Alpaca Group is planning to use photos from this shoot, along with previous work we’ve done, as collateral in their marketing and advertising.
We would like to extend a big thank you to The Alpaca Group for another successful collaboration and thanks again to our readers for checking out this weeks blog post.
